New Faces Join YSHS

To start off the 2019-2020 school year off,  we have to get to know some of the new faces around the building. 

After three years at the York Suburban Middle School Joshua Fisher, an integrated science teacher is familiar with many students currently in high school.  He was asked What it is like having some students two years in a row and Fisher said, “I really enjoy being able to loop with my students, I have already learned so much about them and have had time to build a good relationship, which I believe is key to have success as an educator,”

Fisher is looking forward to activities outside the school such as Homecoming, Mini-thon, and Battle of the Buildings.

Fischer said that he was inspired to because a teacher: “When I was done with my military career I had an opportunity to teach and pass on what I had learned to new personnel. So they have the opportunity to build on what has already been established.” 

Adison Godfrey, an English teacher, was a teacher at State College Area High School. Godfrey said, “I worked for WPSU, the NPR affiliate stations in State College, for two years while getting my master’s degree  and I loved that. …If I hadn’t decided to become a teacher, I would have continued to work in radio.”

Godfrey said, “I tutored adults and peers at Penn State who were learning English as a second language…I believed so much in the power of education, so I wanted to work with high school students to help them develop the skills.”

The York Suburban High School has two new wonderful teacher part of the YSHS Family.
