The Green Club and its members use materials such as straws, to plastic bottles and the bottle caps, to paper towel tubes. Members of the green club also have the chance to enter a competition which will give them the opportunity to win win money and express themselves.

This competition allows them to enter individual pieces, along with pieces as a group where it will be evaluated. The members will then be in the running for first, second, and third place. The winner will win six hundred dollars which they will split the money with the school and the members in the group. Four hundred dollars will go to second place, and two hundred dollars will go to third place. The money will be split between either the members in the group if there are more than one person and the school the students attend.

A club that focuses on the earth and the many benefits that come with recycling. “I have always been very conscious of the earth, so when there was an opening for this, I was really excited because I just tend to do stuff leaning that way to begin with. So it was nice to get a group of like students that have the same mindset, that help each other out and have the same passions for that.” said Mrs. Geiple.

Senior Athin Ishaq joined Green Club because she wanted to become more involved in helping the environment. Alana Huynh, senior, was recommended by a sibling and later fell in love with the unity present in the club. It is clear that there is a certain sense of family involvement when it comes to the Green Club. The Club is still accepting members and welcomes anyone who wishes to join.
