The softball team has been shaping up for the upcoming season. Lead by coach Jen Weitzel, the team is a mix of all grades and skill levels. This diversity of players help to build a strong team that will go far this season. Sophomore Zoe Prats, who play shortstop and third base said, “thus far, this season is going great. There are a lot of talented players on the team, and I am glad to be a part of our continued success.”

This season there is much to look forward to as the girls continue bettering themselves. The team is well rounded out and has potential to do well. Team bonding and practices will play a major role in the success of the team.

Prats said, “away games are always my favorite. The bus ride gives the team some time to rest, bond, and prepare mentally for the game, and playing in a new environment provides an adrenaline rush that is hard to come by otherwise.”

Emily Myers, a sophomore who plays second base, said, “There are a lot of really good players and the new girls are learning really fast. I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”

The team does not have any known known competitors; however, this season Myers said, “I look forward to seeing everyone improve. I also look forward to seeing how we stack up to other teams since we lost three starters last year and we only have one pitcher.”

There is much to look forward to this season as the girls team shapes up to start their season strong. Their first game was on Monday, March 27 against York Catholic.
