No Fashion, No Show

This year will be the first year NAHS will not be having their annual Fashion Show. Some ideas are floating around on what will fill its place, but nothing is definite.

This year, the National Art Honor Society will not be holding the fashion show for the first time. Art teacher Erica Furjanic stated that in previous years, the show has been a tremendous amount of work, both for the members and the officers who coordinate the whole organization.

However, she said the only way to put on the show is if the members are committed and excited about participating. For a successful show, all of the members need to create multiple outfits and help implement the plan for the show itself.

She said that last year’s fashion show was stressful but rewarding. She also said that another problem was that male participation in NAHS has declined throughout the years, in large part due to males not wanting to participate.

Some new things happening this year are that the students artwork is now being displayed in the Trojan Learning Center. This year the windows were painted for Homecoming, as they are every year.  Every year there is a different theme for each grade level.  The themes this year were Star WarsUp,  The Wizard of Oz, and The Lion King. The front lobby windows were painted according to each grade level by the NAHS. The windows were painted with a scene from  Star Wars for the seniors,  Up for the juniors, The Wizard of Oz for sophomores, and the young freshman had a scene from The Lion King.
