Cheerleaders Work Hard to Make Games Spirited

The York Suburban cheerleaders had a long winter season. With practices all the time and having one or two basketball games a week to cheer for, the team has worked hard throughout it all.

In fact, the practices are normally every day unless the boys have a game, and in that case they need to be ready to cheer them on.

They haven’t had a short year either. Their first practice was Nov. 16, and their last game they cheered for was Saturday, February 9th for the boys basketball team. As onlookers have probably already figured out, the girls know how to pump up the crowd. The student section is always into the drills they do and they always work hard until the end of the game. Freshmen Elizabeth Snyder, and hard worker on the team was chosen to be featured. Snyder said about the team’s work ethic,

“We have been doing great, we’ve grown as a team, and have been doing a lot of new stuff.” Snyder seems to be very proud of the team’s progress and said that about the overall season, “This season was filled with a lot of accomplishments and was a pretty good time.” Snyder has done very well on the team and deserves recognition.

The team’s success and hard work can also greatly be contributed to their coach, Leslee Yoder. Elizabeth Snyder said on how her coach did with their group “She did very good! She’s a great coach.”

Even though the football season some of them cheered for earlier is long over, and the basketball team they most recently were cheering for their season just ended, none of those events would have been as spirited if it weren’t for the attitudes of the cheerleaders.
The girls are there to make the games fun, and if it weren’t for the cheerleaders here to pump everyone up, the turnout would not be as big to these events. The cheerleaders have been doing well this season and they all should know that part of our school’s spirit towards games is produced by their cheer and skills.
