Now that the year has come to its halfway point and students look forward to summer break, we look back on our year. Students get their report cards and they review the grades they received and the classes they were in; the staff looks forward to the future and what they can do to further improve our school. To give credit where credit is due, our school has had a great first half of the year. Our students have tried hard and we have achieved many goals. Principal Brian Ellis would like to continue our school’s success, so at this point in the year he has to think of good ways to do that.

Ellis said he would like to continue a great school year and keep the same staff plan for the spring. But when asked about his plans for the following school year, Ellis had much to say. “The staff continues to explore ideas to improve our school,” said Ellis on the pending year. He said that he wants to find more ways to celebrate the school’s unique diversity. He’s working with the staff trying to find new ways to administer the midterms and finals to students that may be more convenient for us.

When asked where he sees the school going he said, “I see it continuing to excel.” He said we have a rich college prep opportunity that is continuing to improve and he knows we can do better not just in school work, but also in athletics and other extra curricular activities.

He is very proud of the students continual improvement and hard work. When he was asked about how this school compared to his last one, he replied that the size is a huge difference. Our school is half as big as his last one, but the fact that our school is smaller makes it easier for Ellis to get to know everyone. He also pointed out that there is a unique spirit in our school, a general excitement amongst the staff students and parents here which is a huge difference that he noticed at our school.
