It has been rated the number one free app “dedicated to helping you find the best dining experiences” according to the ITunes app report. Urbanspoon has four and a half stars for its most current version.
Urbanspoon has different filters like ‘price’, ‘newest near you’, ‘top picks’, etc. If you’re looking for Greek, Italian, seafood, or any other cuisine, this app is the one to go to. Also, if you’re looking to have breakfast at 10:30 at night, Urbanspoon can find a restaurant that serves breakfast all day long. You can also look up places by location, like “Harrisburg” or “Reading”. There is also a filter by price, so if you’re looking to save or spend, this app has it covered.
The app is super helpful for finding places to eat in an unfamiliar area, or for finding new places in your own hometown. It will show you places closest to you, when you search what you’re looking for, for convenience.
You can go in and rate whether you “like” or “do not like” the restaurant, and you can also leave a review for others to see. If you don’t see a restaurant on the app that you’ve eaten at, you can add a restaurant, or if you’re a restaurant owner you can add your own. You also get a “dining timeline” where you can check in wherever it is that you’re eating at, and then they will compare your dining trends.
A fun convenience the app has is you can click on the “shake” icon and shake your phone, and the app will select a location near you, a cuisine type, and a price. For example, ‘York, Italian, and $$’ is something you would see after shaking your phone.
