Apple recently released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus to the United States on Sept. 19. Many were wary of buying the new phone because of flaws, discussion of which is spreading rapidly through social media.

One of the most popular problems is that the phone can easily bend inside people’s pockets. Some people have uploaded videos and pictures of them bending their iPhones.   Freshman Rebecca Leskovec said,“I wouldn’t buy it because first of all, it’s expensive. Secondly, I think it would easily break and be too fragile, though it says to have that flexing ability.”

Apple promised to replace the devices that have been broken, but will not replace it if it is purposely bent. Leskovec also said that she believes Apple products would be worth buying if they did noy keep making new technology so often.

People are also complaining that when they put their gold and white iPhones in their pockets, their jeans are dying the white stripes on the back side. Users of the iPhones are waiting for Apple to solve this issue.

The most common complaint of the phone is the poor battery life. This issue was reported after the newest iOS update, 8.1, was released. Apple gave a new solution to fix this problem: go to  Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage. This will enable one to assess whether the usage and standby are the same, which would indicate that there is a problem with either the iPhone 6 or iOS 8.1.

The most dramatic claim regarding the iPhone 6 comes from a man in Arizona named Phillip Lechter, who reportedly suffered second-degree burns after his sizzling iPhone six burned through his pocket and his boxers during a minor rickshaw accident.

The contained lithium battery in the iPhone inadvertently popped out of it’s socket, causing the fire. Junior Anna Wirschal doesn’t own an iPhone 6, but said all these problems definitely make her not want to buy it. She said, “I used to want one until I realized you’re just paying for a name, and it isn’t really worth it.”
