ISIS is the first terror group to build an Islamic state. This group began earlier in the 1900s and was lead by Abu Omar Al-Shishani released from a Detention Camp in 2009.
It was officially created during April 2013 and has evolved into one of the main jihadist groups fighting government forces in Syria and Iraq. ISIS headquarters are located in Baquba, Iraq. Abu Omar Al Baghdadi is its ruler.
ISIS is the richest terror organization in the world and the number of ISIS fighters has tripled to 31,500.
ISIS controls 35,000 miles of land in Iraq and Syria. This group is known for mass executions, rapes, and beheadings of people that live in the Middle East. Christians are the most targeted religious group. ISIS is discriminating against the religious minority and force families out of their homes.
This group wants people to fear them. This man Mufleh who was a witness of the massacres in Syria even saw them kill a woman on her wedding day because her bare neck and arms were showing.
This man stated that ISIS gave him this anti-anxiety drug Zolam, which made him lose his mind. ISIS fighters have defeated Iraqi forces in a city Fallujah. This goal is to conquer more of Iraq. Some people fear this terror group will grow larger and more powerful.
ISIS has extensive financial resources from alleged organized crime activities in areas they have full control over. Diaspora funds unidentified financial sponsors from the Gulf states. Now that they are dealing with the human capital, they can enable operations in various locations too.
This is a huge advantage to them because they can get multiple tasks accomplished all at one time. Science teacher Steve Whitley said, “ISIS may not be on our soil but it affects us.”
For example, not too long ago in Babil Province, south of the capital a shepherd found a grave containing 35 bodies. Other violence ISIS has done was bombing Northern Baghdad, which lead to killings.
