Ready…Set…Go! The start of spring sports has arrived

Our spring sports are doing well in the beginning of the season so far.  Track and field, baseball, softball, lacrosse boys and girls, boys volleyball and boys’ tennis are the spring sports for York Suburban.

Spring sports are starting off their season, York Suburban students are hoping that this year the spring sports will continue so shine like all the fall and winter sports have already.

Are students ready for this season? Freshman Josh Miller said, “Yes, I’m looking forward to playing baseball this year.”

The ninth graders who are new to any sports team with the high school come up to play baseball on the varsity team. They have been going to the winter practices that Coach Rotolo has scheduled once to twice a week Miller said, “By the looks from winter practices, I think that our team will be very good and they have been helping me.”

Junior Colleen Dommel said, “Hopefully this year will go just as well as last year.” Junior Ian Blake said, “This year, the track team will do just as good as they did last year, maybe even better.”

There are high hopes for all spring sports teams this year, let’s see if they can live up to their expectations.

All spring sports will have the newcomers from middle school if they have just now decided to do a sport.

For track, both boys and girls (freshmen) may choose to go down to the junior varsity track team; when they are sophomores, they can come up to varsity. Blake said, “I think they will have to do some work, but in the end they will do great.”

However, for the boys’ track team this year, there will be higher expectations because there are not that many people coming out.

Altogether, spring sports will have their work cut out for them and with all the snow practice will be a bit more challenging.

Lets see how well our spring sports teams will do this year in the cold. They will all have to deal with the cold winds and postponed games/meets. To this we say good luck athletes and stay warm.
