The Spanish Honors Society gives back to a needy family, trick-or-treating children, and their own society with lollipops.  Skull pops were sold on November first and second. The flavors of lollipops came in grape, strawberry, and cream and are skull shaped. The Spanish Honor Society sold these pops for 50 cents during all lunches.

Spanish teacher, Heather Kinneman said “The Spanish Honor Society sells these skull pops every year around ‘Dia de los Muertos’, The Day of the Dead, to raise some money for our society.” Kinneman said, “The money raised from the sale of the skull pops is put towards the adoption of a needy family within the York Suburban School District.”  As well as selling the pops to benefit the Spanish Honors Society, and the needy family, the lollipops were handed to the trick-or-treaters that participated in the Halloween event at the high school.

Compared to last year, sales were about the same, selling approximately 100 lollipops.  Kinneman said  “The lollipops will be sold again next year around Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead is celebrated November 1st and 2nd so as close to those dates as possible.”
