New Smiles Welcome YS Visitors

welcome

Those visiting the offices throughout the district this school year might notice some new faces as well as some familiar faces in new places.

This year, LaDawn Huber will be working in the high school guidance office which she anticipates will be quite a change from her part-time position in Valley View’s office. Before making the shift, Mrs. Huber took advantage of her time off this summer to spend time with her family in Ocean City, MD; Pittsburgh; Sea Isle City, NJ; and Niagara Falls. So far she finds the size of the students to be the most notable difference.  “I’ve worked at Valley View for the past 10 years, so I am used to smaller students!” she remarked.  Mrs. Huber is proud to be the parent of two York Suburban alumni, and she is looking forward to working in the high school.

Taking Mrs. Huber’s place at Valley View is Kate Swope. Prior to eight years of taking care of her children full-time, she worked in technical writing and client support. She has two sons in the district. About the upcoming school year, Ms. Swope said, “I’m really looking forward to working with the great staff and students at Valley View this year.”

The high school main office welcomes back Kathy Pugh. Mrs. Pugh had previously been working at the middle school.  This summer, Mrs. Pugh enjoyed spending time with her eight grandchildren, golfing, fishing, and swimming.  She spent time at her cabin in Juniata County, golfed at Lost Creek Golf Club, and traveled to Little Buffalo State Park. However, she has already been at work in the high school and has noticed that the middle school is a bit busier with parent interaction than the high school over the summer months. As the school year begins, she is “looking forward to getting reacquainted with the staff and meeting new staff members.

York Suburban Middle School welcomes Diana Loomis to the main office. Previously, she worked in the cafeteria at Northeastern High School. Ms. Loomis and her daughter, a ninth grader in the district, travelled to Lake Superior this summer.  Ms. Loomis is looking forward to getting to know the middle school students and staff.

Please join York Suburban in welcoming these ladies to their new positions!
