YORK SUBURBAN MIDDLE SCHOOL STRINGS AND SINGERS
The York Suburban School District holiday season began with a concert by the singers and musicians from the York Suburban Middle School.
Family and friends packed the YSMS auditorium to hear the sounds of the seasons.
Performing were:
— The 7th and 8th Grade String Orchestra, under the direction of Ashley Thrush.
— The YSMS String Orchestra, directed by Mrs. Thrush.
— The YSMS Select String Ensemble, also directed by Mrs. Thrush.
— The 6th Grade Chorus, directed by Hannah Stayer.
— The Sounds of Tomorrow, directed by Amy Chapman.
— The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus, directed by Miss Stayer.
All of the singers were accompanied on the piano by Sue Wolschleger.
INDIAN ROCK AND EAST YORK STRINGS AND SINGERS
Students from Indian Rock and East York Elementary Schools performed a holiday concert program at the York Suburban High School on Thursday, December 18.
Performing were:
–The combined East York and Indian Rock Strings under the direction of Ashley Thrush.
— The combined Indian Rock and East York Band under the direction of James Biddle and Ashley Markey.
— The York Suburban Elementary Singers (East York and Indian Rock Chorus) directed by Susan Wolschleger and Ashley Markey and accompanied by Hannah Stayer.
There were more than 175 students in the combined chorus.
HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIANS PRESENT HOLIDAY CONCERT
The York Suburban High School musicians presented a Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 14.
The program included:
— The String Orchestra, under the direction of Ashley Thrush. Daniel Lee and Emily Hamme were featured soloists in one of the numbers.
— The Sweet Adelines, under the direction of student Julianna Kates, with Hannah Stayer as accompanist.
— The YS Singers, with Hannah Stayer directing and Jon Abel as the accompanist.
— The Concert Band, under the direction of Matthew Husler.
— The Concert Choir, directed by Hannah Stayer and accompanied by Jon Abel.
YSMS BANDS CAP HOLIDAY CONCERTS
The YSMS bands wrapped up the holiday concert season with a concert on Wednesday, December 17. Both bands were under direction of James Biddle.
The sixth grade band program included:
— Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
— Oh Hanukkah
— O Christmas Tree
— All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.
The seventh and eighth grade band rounded out the evening with a program that included:
— And All the Bells Shall Ring.
— Swingin’ Santa.
— All About Christmas.
