Leigh Foy

The POGIL Project is active at the college and high levels of education.  It has received more than $6,000,000 from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, and the Toyota Foundation.

Three years ago, Leigh Foy became one of the associated editors/authors of a national initiative to write high school chemistry and biology activities (both at the first year high school and AP levels).  This month, the Chemistry and Biology POGIL Activities Books were published by Flinn Scientific, a national supplier of science materials, and offered to teachers across the country and around the world.  The science department at YSHS is currently using the activities in chemistry and biology classrooms.

Leigh has presented POGIL workshops at state and national chemistry and biology conferences.  She has also worked with teachers in New Zealand this past summer.   She is currently involved with producing webinars to help train teachers in the POGIL teaching method.
