A new FLEX period hits YSHS this year. The period evolved over the years from a traditional homeroom, to Advisory, to now what is known as FLEX. FLEX is a 
structured, 26-minute academic period, designed for students to receive help from their content teachers, study, read, start homework, make-up a quiz, or attend a study session. Students may ask to see one of their teachers or teachers may request a student report to them during FLEX. Either way, the students are receiving extra support. In addition to receiving academic help and support, students are able to monitor their grades and academic goals with guidance from their FLEX teacher.
