First Impact Foundation Closet Opens in High School

Impact Foundation (IF) students built and stocked the first of six “Impact Closets” that they will construct at each York Suburban building to help provide basic supplies like toothpaste, shampoo, clothing and food.  The video was filmed and edited from 6 am to 5 pm on Saturday, April 16 and debuted that same evening at the York Suburban Education Foundation’s Celebration of Excellence.

This short video shares their story:  Impact Foundation

IF conducted a school wide needs assessment and successfully secured a grant from the York County Community Foundation that has provided the funding to build the closets. IF has also secured startup funding through the Jeffrey D. Sindicich Foundation, Carolyn F. Warman and the York County Alliance for Learning.

The Impact Foundation, a committee of the York Suburban Education Foundation, is made up of a group of York Suburban High School students and is focused on continuing York Suburban’s commitment toward educational excellence by educating and engaging students in meeting the needs of their own school community through philanthropic compassion.  IF’s motto is “Students Helping Students”.
