YSHS Boys’ Cross-Country Team Wins State Title

The York Suburban Boys’ Cross-Country Team won the PIAA Class AA State Title at Hershey on Saturday, November 1.

This is the second time in five years the boys’ team has won the state title under Coach Ron Herman.  Several of the members of the winning 2009 team were on hand to cheer on the runners.  Ron has been coaching the York Suburban teams for the past 27 years.

The 2014 team was 31 points ahead of its closest competitors when the state winners were announced.

Members of the team are:  Seniors Brady Wilt, Adam Barley and Zach Lofties; Juniors Donovan Mears and Quentin Schorr;  Sophomore Peter Wagner; and Freshmen Bryce Ohl and Josh Kerr.

Coach of the Girls’ Team is Dan VanHouwe.  Assistant coaches are:  Justin Krebs, Adam Walton, and Christine Krebs.

 Middle School coaches are:  John Enders and Michael Jackson.
