YSEF’s Tax Credit Status Renewed

The Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development has renewed the York Suburban Education Foundation (YSEF) status as an Education Improvement Organization (EIO).

What does this mean?

A business interested in making a donation to the York Suburban Education Foundation may receive a tax credit equal to 75 percent of its contribution to the YSEF.  The tax credit may be increased to 90 percent of the contribution if the business agrees to provide the same amount of the contribution to the YSEF for two consecutive years.

If a business is interested in learning more about EITC contributions, contact the YSEF office at 717-885-1122 or send an e-mail to info@ysef.org.

FALL CAMPAIGN UNDER WAY:  The YSEF Fall Campaign has started.  If you’ve received a letter from a YSEF Board Member, please consider a donation today.

With your support, the YSEF is able to provide a venue to support value-added academic experiences through grants to York Suburban teachers and staff.  For York Suburban staff members, the grant process has also started.  Do you have a project or program that is innovative and wouldn’t normally be funded through the school budget? Those are the types of grants the YSEF is interested in funding! Check out www.ysef.org for the grant guidelines and application.  The deadline to submit a grant is February 1.

ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER?:  On Saturday, January 25, the YSEF is going to find out if members from a York Community Team, an Education Team, a High School Honor Society Student Team and an Alumni Team are smarter than a team of York Suburban 5th graders.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the York Suburban Middle School.  If you are a 5th grade student and would like to compete on the 5th grade team or help in other ways during the event, look for a sign-up sheet to come home in December.    For more information on the “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” event, visit the YSEF website, www.ysef.org.
