White Out scheduled for Thursday

by Alex Probert

The White Out game is a York Suburban boys’ volleyball fundraiser. Every year, the boys’ volleyball team has a fundraiser for numerous amounts of people and different events. Last year, the volleyball team had the Grey Out, but switched it back to the White Out this year to keep the tradition going.

Some people may know the White Out from the Black Out. The Black Out is a York Suburban girls’ volleyball fundraiser that does the same thing, but on a separate occasions.

As a community, many people come together to support a good cause, which is what it’s about at the end of the day. This year, the money is being raised for the Igo family who have been going through some hardships. T-shirts are being sold by the boys’ volleyball team in hopes to raise a good amount of money.

Mikey Igo, a senior at York Suburban said, “My first reaction was total appreciation for what the team is doing. My family and I are grateful for the support we have received.” Igo also said, “After being a spectator for many years to now being on the receiving end of the White Out, it is very humbling and appreciated to see what the team is doing.”

He then added, “I would like to thank Ms. Kutcher, Mr. Good, and the whole volleyball and York Suburban Community. The Support has been outstanding and we will be forever grateful.”

Junior Cole Hill gives his intake on the fundraiser. Hill said, “The White Out is a very good way to show our love and support for our York Suburban communities.” Hill added, “I encourage people to come to watch the game, but also to of course show your support to the Igo family.” The White Out is a good way for the community to come together.

The game will be held on Thursday, April 11. Junior Varsity starts at 6:00 with varsity following after. There will be concession stands and raffle prizes. This year, the game will be against Manheim Central, so with more audience, as a community, people can all show their support for a good cause.
