The Copper Crust is a local bakery and cafe located at 966 South George Street. They offer a wide variety of delicious delicacies, from pastries, to sandwiches.

Owners Sean and Nicolle Austin started their business in 2012 by opening a stand in Central Market. Due to the business’s popularity and quick growth, they opened their cafe on George Street in March of 2018. The new space is much larger, and allows for more people to dine in, and more food options as well. Their hours are much more flexible as well, allowing people to purchase breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The cafe offers a wide variety of pastries, baked fresh daily. They also have made to order breakfast platters and sandwiches. They also recently introduced pizza into the mix. There truly is an option for anyone and everyone.

The cafe is commended on their amazing hospitality, and impeccable food. When speaking to manager Caitlin Lehman, she was enthused when speaking about how “the Copper Crust is upbeat and very family oriented.”

The large menu and family atmosphere draw many customers to the facility. The customers “are mostly regulars, and very friendly.” However, Lehman stated, “We are great for kids who need to have a study session, or a family night out.” The cafe is a laid back place, where co workers can have a meeting, or friends can go for a cup of coffee.

As manager, Caitlin ensures that the employees are properly trained, and able to give the best service, and product possible to their customers. Caitlin is an extraordinary baker, and she is over the moon that she gets to do what she loves every day.

In the future, “The Copper Crust hopes to have multiple location… and my personal wish for the company is that it just keeps growing and expanding,” Caitlin says.
