Student Poll: Do you see racism at York Suburban?

Tomasz Ziminski an 11th grader said; “No not really. It’s just the couple of kids who are and they were just born that way you can’t change them.”

 

Senior Jaiden Manley said,  “The punishments are unfair and the treatments between the races is different.”

 

Juniors Jada Brown and Tamier Bennett said, “Yeah it is very racist. The people are clearly treated differently and we’ve heard the ‘N’ word plenty of times.”

Junior Princela Boateng said, “Of course…there are racist kids everywhere. I constantly hear the ‘N’ word.”

 

Elise Mears a 12 grader said, “I’m in cultural diversity and people choose not to say stuff because they are scared to be racist.”

Frankie Selegrath and Maia Knudson, both 12th graders, said, “We hear a lot about it… we hear that word a lot as well.”

 

12th grader Isabelle Pemberton said, “There is a obvious difference between the white students and the black students.”

 

Katie Webb, a 9th grader said, “Yes, because of the way that I see people act and how they treat others.”
