Seniors’ future plans

Isobel Smith — Marymount University — Business law

“I’ll be going to Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. It’s a small school in a larger city. It’s six minutes from D.C. I wanted a small school in a place that there is stuff to do. I also wanted to do law and so I’m doing a program where I’ll do three years at Marymount and then three years at Catholic in D.C. So I’ll have my business degree and my law degree in six years.”

“I want to go into hotels. I want to be a lawyer for corporate hotels.”

Sophia Mingora — Indiana University of Pennsylvania — Child Development and Family Relations

“I was originally going to do teaching, and then I was going to do family and consumer science, but I did not want to teach at the middle school or high school. When I toured IUP I saw they had a program for Child Development and Family Relations. So, I can work with kids while being in the middle school or high school.”

“I can go a fifth year there and get my masters and my teaching degree so I’m excited to be able to have more of an opportunity once I graduate.”

Madison Ehrhart — Messiah College — Nursing

“I just chose Messiah because it just fit with everything I wanted to do because I could also fit a minor in Spanish there and it is not too big of a time commitment. I could also study abroad and [participate in] various activities and clubs there.”

“I originally wanted to be a doctor but nursing has a lot more experience and personal touch with it, and I really enjoy working with people. I really like helping people so I wanted to do nursing.”

Jeremy Cross — HACC (transferring after 1 year to Millersville) — Graphic Design

“I love creating artwork for companies and I love the whole marketing aspect of graphic design. My plan is one day is [to start] my own graphic design company, if not, working for a graphic design business. I will hopefully be doing t-shirt designs.”

Raven Alwine-Frank — York College — Mechanical Engineering

“I’m really excited to participate in swimming and track in college.”

Katie Hill — Temple — Undecided

“I’m not quite sure yet [major wise] what I want to do, but I want to continue take German and hopefully study psychology. I’m excited for the opportunity to start over and just be on my own and everything. I’m going with a couple of my friends so there will be that familiarity there, but other than that I’m hoping to really branch out.”

“Temple was not my first choice. I chose Temple because it was a good decision financially and they have a lot of options major wise. Since I don’t know what I want to do I really want to have that open and pretty broad [choice]. I also always wanted to be in a big city and I think Philadelphia is relatively clean and nice.”
