Designer brands come out with new looks for 2018

2018 has already proved to be a huge year for fashion around the world. Throughout January and February, designer brands seem to be focusing mainly on shoe collections and collaborations with other brands.

In Japan, brand BAPE has come out with their new 2018 collection, collaborating with Adidas to create the BAPE x adidas Dame 4 shoe. The shoe made its debut at NBA All-Star Weekend but officially releases on February 18 for $150, now reselling anywhere from $200 to $1200. Outside of shoes, BAPE is teaming up with UNDEFEATED for their spring collection, which looks to be a line of camo jackets and loungewear with prices ranging from $115 to $679 based on previews.

Balenciaga has come out with a true showstopper, the platform croc. While it may sound comical, fashion icons around the world have been going crazy over the $850 shoe, which was for sale in early February and sold out in seconds. Along with the crocs, Balenciaga previewed some new colorways of their Triple S sneaker which nearly broke the internet in late 2017 due to the minimalistic and distressed look that is very new to the fashion world.

Virgil Abloh’s brand, Off-White has released two completely different shoe collections with two very different brands. The first, which released in late January, is the white version of their already iconic Jordan Retro High Chicago. The other collaboration is with London based brand Jimmy Choo. Instead of sneakers, this project is focused strictly on heels and boots, ranging from $995-$1995.
