After his son Ayden was diagnosed with inoperable brain tumors last fall, Bill Kohler started the Ayden Foundation, an organization that helps and supports children like Ayden through DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) and funds for research to find a cure for cancer.

The goal of the foundation is to raise money for cancer research. According to Kohler, there are about fifty to sixty people involved with the Ayden Foundation already. He said he is spreading the message mainly through social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

After Ayden was diagnosed, Kohler felt destined to help others who have children with cancer find a cure. He said, “No child deserves to go through this terrible disease.”

Kohler’s plans for the future of the foundation include making it worldwide, helping others, and getting the research necessary to demolish cancer. Making the Ayden Foundation better and getting more people involved is something Kohler desires to do.

A fundraising event, “Shoot Out Cancer,” a skeet shooting event which is taking place on July 22, 2017. This event focuses on honoring Ayden and what he loved the most.

The Foundation als plans on offering posters and t-shirts to promote their cause.
