On Monday, May 4 tickets for York Suburban’s 2015 prom went on sale in senior class adviser Joan Hammond’s room. Students frantically made there way to her room so that they could assure that they would have perfect seats for this night to remember.

Tickets went on sale for 50 dollars. While paying for the ticket students chose which table they wanted to be seated at and what type of dinner they would like. The students had the option of either a chicken or a vegetarian dinner.

This years theme for prom was “The Great Gatsby,” so a lot of the girls in our school decided to buy dresses and accessories that stuck with the exciting theme. Some girls even rocked a 20’s style hair do.

Prom is usually a big deal at York Suburban High School, so for about 3 weeks before the event, the halls were filled with girls talking about what their dresses looked like and guys talking about who they were taking as their dates.

Finally, on Saturday May 16, the day was here. Girls got up early in the morning to get their hair and nails done and guys went to go get haircuts and pick up their dates’ corsage.

Junior, Ciara Buckingham said, “the most exciting thing about prom is getting to get all dressed up and take pictures with your friends.” Most of the other people who were asked what the most exciting thing about prom is said something similar to Buckingham’s statement.

“Actually being at prom is also kind of exciting if you disregard the 2002 music playlist and that mediocre tasting food” said senior TyJah Bair.
