Four of its most outstanding student-musicians were selected to represent York Suburban High School in PMEA District 7 Ensembles. These students auditioned and were identified by area music teachers as some of the best musicians in the area. District 7 covers eight south-central Pennsylvania counties: Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties. The selected musicians were Meredith Singleton (Chorus), Daniel Lee (Orchestra), Jack Korver (Band), and Sean Smith (Band). Daniel Lee was ranked 5th out of 100 violinists.
The musicians will join their peers from the other schools for a weekend of practices, a concert, and the opportunity to audition for the regional ensembles. The District Chorus will perform on January 14 at Eastern Lebanon High School, the District Orchestra will perform on January 28 at Central York High School, and the District Band will perform on February 11 at Eastern York High School.
