This November marked the 3rd Annual Turkey Pardon ceremony in Mrs. Guyer’s English Language Arts classes. After learning about the tradition of officially “pardoning” White House turkeys, the 5th graders took the role of turkeys and wrote letters to President Gulley, asking for a pardon from the Thanksgiving table. This year there were eight finalists noted for their persuasive writing, with two of them selected for a full pardon. Congratulations to Delaney Welter, Brailynn Garcia, Riley Greenberg, Harrison Strine, Braeden Hilty, and Lily Richardson for their finalist finishes, and to Zaynab Kline and Liam Leik for their official pardons!
