Poetry Out Loud

On December 14, York Suburan High School held its twelfth annual Poetry Out Loud schoolwide competition. Forty-nine students recited memorized poems in front of an audience of parents, staff, and fellow students.  The participants were selected by their English teachers through efforts in classroom Poetry Out Loud activities.  This year’s winner was junior Zoe Prats for her recitation of “Mrs. Caldera’s House of Things,” and our runner-up was junior Emily Myers for her recitation of “Money Refuses the Operation.”   Zoe will continue onto a regional competition to  compete with the winners of other schools.
